And God took a handful of southerly wind, blew his breath upon it, and created the horse. ~ Bedouin legend

Client Testimonials

Michelle Hughes of Destiny Shelties

The health and wellbeing of the animals is my primary concern. I have become very selective when choosing a vet to care for them.  It’s becoming increasing difficult to find a practice that is not governed by a business entity which requires their vets and staff to promote “Puppy Packs”, unnecessary lab work and over vaccinate.  I want my vet to give individual and specific care for each animal.  Dr. Terri’s broad range of knowledge of traditional, orthomolecular and alternative practices (such homeopathy and herbology) provides the best possible care for large and small animals.  Dr. Terri not only meets the needs of my animals but she spends time explaining procedures and educating me so that I can be the best care giver.  Since my dogs are active in performance events, conformation and as therapy dogs, they need to be in top condition and I know that I can rely on Dr. Terri’s expertise to keep them fit and healthy.  It is rewarding to know that my vet and I have the same goals.

Sincerely,

Michelle

Arlene MacKay of ZW Ranch

Terri has been my veterinarian for over seven years and I have found her care to always be current and top notch, placing the animals health and well being a top priority. She has helped me through disease outbreaks, traumas, routine healthcare and with reproduction, from breeding the mares to caring for my injured stallion and foals. She always integrates her care, combining herbal therapies and acupuncture with her more traditional treatments, healing horses we would have thought beyond repair. She also never gives up on a case until every option has been investigated - calling referral facilities for consultations, doing research for new therapies, or even coming up with a new way to deal with an injury or illness - then following her patients health thoughtfully and caring, even to the end. She has and always will be an asset and dear friend to our family and animals.

Jakar Arabians  - Jason Daniels, Jay and Kathi Daniels

Jakar Arabians has been in business for 40 years, what started as a small horse operation, has grown to be one of the important Arabian ranches in the country.  The farm has bred and shown National and Regional and Scottsdale Champions.  Breeding for ourselves and our clients is a staple of the farm, and that is how Jakar originally became involved with Dr. Terri.  Her extensive breeding knowledge and maybe more important, her availability and tenacity in working thru complicated issues has made her a critical part in the well being of the horses and owners of Jakar. Terri is an asset and a dear friend. We recommend her without reserve.

I just wanted to take a minute to tell anyone who is thinking about using Dr. VanWambeke and TJ Farm services that I am 100% satisfied. I wouldn't hesitate to use her for anything I needed. From emergency care, to breeding my horses, to acupuncture for good health or health problems she is the first person I turn to. I also wouldn't hesitate to board my horses at her facilities. I get to see how all the animals are treated on her Farm and by far they are superior!

Not only has she saved my senior, now retired, ranch horse from choke, but she has even started doing acupuncture on him. He is a whole new horse. His back doesn't hurt him anymore (flipped in cross ties before we rescued him) which is something that no one has been able to do in 20 years until now! Best of all he has tons of energy. He isn't sulking around the pasture because he is retired. He runs laps around the pasture as if to say “Look at me! I can still work!”  He has always been the first to the gate to go to work and with the acupuncture he is once again first to the gate! He unfortunately is going blind and deaf so his working days are over but he herds the cows around the pasture all on his own again. It’s great to see.

During an acupuncture treatment she is able to tell me how he is feeling and where he hurts when he can't. So in turn she can treat him for things that I may not even have know are bothering him. He has worked hard in his life and deserves the best!

We love Dr. Terri so much that we keep trying to get her to work on our other livestock. For some reason she want to stay with horses but we would be her first large animal clients if she ever changed her mind!

Clients for life,

Quail Ridge Farm - Wendy Rhea

"Dr. VanWambeke has literally been a lifesaver with her acupuncture treatments.  My fantastic lesson horse, an older Morgan mare, had a severe case of laminitis due to Cushings disease and was barely walking and extremely painful at that.  After just a couple of treatments I turned her out in my arena for her daily roll and she took off bucking!  Dr. VanWambeke has been able to help her through a recent relapse and she is looking so good that I'm thinking of bringing her out of retirement at the age of 25!"

2009 Update: Cammie is back to work and was shown all last season - placing in every one of her tests!

We cannot recommend Dr. Terri highly enough.  She was instrumental in getting a quick diagnosis for our dog with a disease not commonly found in breeds outside the German Shepherd Dog.  We have heard numerous horror stories of other dogs that were literally on death’s door, or sadly perished because their vets were either ignorant of the disease, or unwilling to run the necessary test because it happened not to be the “right” breed.   If it hadn’t been for Dr. Terri’s knowledge and quick, decisive action, our Lily may not be with us today. Not only is Dr. Terri a great diagnostician, she is generous with her time; very patient in listening to all our questions and thorough with her answers.  She is gentle and loving with our animal companions so they are always at ease, which is comforting to us!  We also appreciate the fact that Dr. Terri is willing to go beyond the scope of “traditional” veterinary medicine by offering alternative treatments, allowing for a well-rounded, holistic approach to our pets’ health care.

Thank you, Dr. Terri, for the wonderful work you do, and the confidence you instill in us that our furry family is getting the best possible care.

I feel truly grateful not only to call Dr Terri a great vet but also a great friend. She has watched me grow up and has always been there for advice, care, and support when it came to the health and happiness of our ponies, horses, dogs, and cats. Terri has treated many of our animals as a vet, chiropractor, and acupuncturist - although I have to say the animals like her a lot more now that she isn't only the evil vaccination lady. She always looks out for the best interest of her clients and their pocketbooks. Even the day after Terri adjusts my two four year old horses I can feel the difference in their backs and their way of going. They are more willing, supple, and relaxed. My 12 year old lab mix now welcomes his weekly acupuncture appointments and gets very happy every time Terri visits, quickly assuming his position on the treatment couch. Terri is patient, hard working, organized, and fun to be around. There is no better evidence of the great care she gives than her own animals. Her horses and dogs are always happy, healthy, and well kept. I really don't know what we would do without her help and support!
