"No matter how little money and how few possesions you own, having a dog makes you rich." - Louis Sabin Since each of us is blessed with only one life, why not live it with a cat?- Robert Stearns "He is your friend, your partner, your defender, your dog. You are his life, his love, his leader. He will be yours, faithful and true, to the last beat of his heart. You owe it to him to be worthy of such devotion." - Unknown "One small cat changes coming home to an empty house to coming home."- Pam Brown

What to expect from your acupuncture session? Because this is an integrative medicine practice - Western and Eastern Medicine - we will review your pet's medical history prior to our initial session. During the session your pet's tongue, pulse, respiratory rate, heart rate, and general physical condition will be evaluated. Specific points on your pet will be evaluated for sensitivity. Following the examination we may recommend additional diagnostics such as a neurologic exam, bloodwork/urinalysis, radiographs or ultrasound examination. Depending upon the results of the exam; herbal medications, diet change, homeopathic remedies, western medications, stretches or massage may be prescribed in addition to acupuncture and chiropractic therapy. Once you have scheduled an appointment, we will provide you with important veterinary medical history documents and forms to be completed and returned prior to your session. Please allow 30 minutes for each session. Once the veterinarian has examined your pet, made any chiropractic adjustments and placed the needles, you and your pet will be left to relax in the exam room for 15-20" with the needles in place, at the end of the session our wonderful technician will come in to remove the needles and go over any prescriptions and other take home instructions. We will generally have you come in for a follow up appointment in one to two weeks. If you bring your pet in for chiropractic evaluation only, it will be a 10-15" appointment and recheck will be schedule pending necessary adjustments.
Cost of treatment Office Call $29-- Chiropractic Adjustment and Brief Physical Exam only $50- Acupuncture (always includes chiropractic evaluation and adjustment) and complete physical exam (Western and Eastern) $145- **please note that we do not charge an additional fee for electroacupuncture or aquapuncture**
If you are not a regular client at Cherokee Veterinary Hospital, you
will be charged an office call the first time we see your pet. We will
perform a physical exam, get pertinent medical history and start a chart for
your pet. All other visits will be charged the treatment rate plus the cost
of diagnostics and medicines/herbs. A little bit about Cherokee Veterinary Hospital |
